Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk
Dubbed “the best funk band from New Orleans right now” by The New York Times and “the funkiest collection of human gumbo ever assembled on the planet” by Bonnie Raitt, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk is a high-energy blast of New Orleans funk. What started as a solo project for Ivan Neville’s 2003’s Jazz Fest performance proved so explosive that it became a band in its own right. Members Nick Daniels, Raymond Weber, Ian Neville and Tony Hall bring stellar pedigrees to the mix, having worked with the likes of Etta James, Boz Scaggs, Harry Connick Jr., North Mississippi Allstars, Jewel and Emmylou Harris. The band was voted 2007’s “New Orleans’ Best Funk Band” by Offbeat Magazine and won the 2005 Big Easy Award for New Orleans’ “Best Funk Group.” Prepare to get your funk on.

Over the years the Casino Cabaret hosted such acts as Ike & Tina Turner, BB King, Jimmy Smith and countless others. Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom opened in 2003 and has since had many outstanding musical experiences with bands like Soulive, The Disco Biscuits, Slick Rick and Chris Robinson’s New Earth Mud Band. |
