Deep Banana Blackout featuring Fred Wesley and Bernie Worrell

Deep Banana Blackout has been a musical force on the East Coast underground funk, jazz and jam scenes for over a decade. In addition to a canon of highly acclaimed material, this eight-piece musical outfit is notorious for performing musical compositions ranging from Tower of Power, Sly and the Family Stone, James Brown, Led Zeppelin and The Meters. In July of 1997, DBB released their first studio effort, Live in the Thousand Islands, which was recorded in an old Colt .45 building. In February of ’99, the band released a double live CD, Rowdy Duty, recorded in just one night. Ten years on, it’s still a picture-perfect representation of the band’s high-energy shows. There’s a reason Deep Banana Blackout is a favorite at summer festivals: They bring the hardcore dance party to every show.
