(New York, NY – April 22, 2008) — Earth Day Network and Green Apple Festival organizers estimate approximately 200,000 attended the all-inclusive, interactive and free festivals in public parks over the weekend. Nothing however deterred fans and families alike from coming out to support one of the most pressing issues of our time. Organizers were so pleased with the turn-out that Peter Shapiro, Green Apple founder and Executive Producer, has set his sights on April 19th, 2009 as the date for next year’s national celebration of Earth Day.
